This six-hour professional development seminar equips special education teachers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to develop compliant, data-driven, and student-centered Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Participants will learn how to align IEP goals with grade-level standards, write measurable annual goals, document present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFPs) based on multiple data sources, and ensure accommodations, modifications, and service minutes reflect individual student needs. Through case studies and guided practice, teachers will apply New Mexico’s IEP guidance and federal IDEA requirements to produce clear, high-quality IEPs that support meaningful access to the general curriculum and improved student outcomes.
