This training course is designed to equip elementary educators, secondary educators, Gifted teachers, and TESOL endorsed educators in New Mexico with practical strategies for integrating reading instruction into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum and activities. Participants will explore how to adapt STEM materials and lessons to provide opportunities for students to improve their reading skills while engaging with complex scientific concepts. Through interactive modules, educators will learn to evaluate STEM learning materials for potential literacy challenges and discover methods to supplement curriculum with evidence-based reading materials to further develop student literacy.
