This professional development course is designed for early childhood educators (PreK–2) to deepen their understanding of phonemic awareness and oral language development using culturally relevant traditional tales. Educators will explore a progression of strategies from foundational concepts to advanced applications, culminating in the creation of culturally responsive, standards-aligned lesson plans. Through a blend of readings, discussions, and practice-based learning, participants will be equipped to integrate rich oral storytelling and phonemic activities in their classrooms.
